Hands-on Courses and Workshops
This pre-congress course is designed for surgeons who want to adopt bariatric metabolic surgery to their practice. Participants will increase their procedural knowledge and skills to perform laparoscopic bariatric and metabolic surgeries. The theoretical part includes didactic and video lectures focusing on the preoperative preparation, operative steps of key procedures in bariatric surgery and postoperative nutrition. Safe stapling strategies also one of the purposes of the course.
The hands-on training part o of the course will provide further opportunities to refine skills to perform safe and successful bariatric procedures such as sleeve and gastric bypasses using meticulous dissection and anastomosis techniques.

The generic skills necessary for Robotic Surgery using da Vinci will be covered in this course. The course is aimed at surgical trainees, surgeons and consultants who are new to robotic surgery. Course program will include:

Participants will increase their procedural knowledge and skills to perform laparoscopic colorectal surgeries. The theoretical part includes didactic and video lectures focusing on the key operative steps and techniques necessary to perform laparoscopic colorectal procedures efficiently. The hands-on training part o of the course will provide further opportunities to refine skills to perform safe and successful colorectal procedures. At the end of the course, each attendee will be able to:
- Decide to perform laparoscopic colorectal surgery
- Describe the indications, patient selection, patient information, risks, and complications related to laparoscopic colorectal surgery
- Outline the important anatomical considerations for safe laparoscopic colectomy (vascular isolations, embryological plans, etc.)
- Be familiar with technological innovations related to dissection, visualization, and perfusion

Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM) is an advanced interventional endoscopic technique in the field of endoluminal-endoscopic surgery. It is also referred to as "third space surgery" or "third space endoscopy."

Transanal surgery has gained popularity during the latter part of the last decade for early rectal cancer, local excision after neoadjuvant treatment, and polyps and rectal GISTs. Also, for treating rectal anastomosis complications and rectovaginal fistulas TEO is helpful. This course is designed to provide advanced colorectal surgical trainees and consultants who want to establish a transanal practice with hands-on training. It addresses a gap in conventional surgical training in an emerging branch of colorectal practice.
